I am a biomedical researcher in Maryland, USA. I've been interested in sf since grade school, and have published a zine and worked on conventions in the past. I've just started writing fanfiction and hope to post some here. I have a lot of interests--Babylon Five is the most obvious, but I dabble in other fandoms. I also am interested in science and feminism and the intersection of both with politics.

Don't know what else I plan to post on this journal, random thoughts and musings maybe, as well as fic.

I love this quote, from an interview of Joe Bageant, author of Deer Hunting with Jesus, which is complete as follows:

"I write because writing is a disease, or a calling, I can never figure
out which. But whatever it is, I've got it and so must suffer the
consequences."
